BREAKFAST ON THE GO! OVERNIGHT OATS

OVERNIGHT OATS

Total: $3.50  Grocery bill: $14.16 (enough for 4 days!)

 

ASSEMBLE:

  • 4 pint size jars or cups (and covers)
  • Spoon
  • Small bowls for fruit
  • Ingredients

INGREDIENTS:

  • 1/2  cup rolled oats for each jar or glass ($2.69 for 18 oz container)
  • 1/2 cup unsweetened almond milk or your choice of milk for each container ($1.99 for 32 fl oz)
  • 4 strawberries sliced ($2.99 for 1 lb)
  • 16 blueberries ($2.50 for 6 oz)
  • 1 tablespoon organic honey ($3.99 for 12 oz)
  • Optional:
    Use steel cut oats.
    Chopped nuts for topping  

 

Eat healthy on the run!

DIRECTIONS:

  1. Select about 1-2 strawberries and a spoonful of blueberries for each container.
  2. Wash and dry fruit.  Slice strawberries.
  3. Fill each jar or glass with 1/2 cup of oats. 
  4. Cover the oats with almond milk.
  5. Add honey.
  6. Stir.
  7. Top with sliced strawberries, blueberries and optional nuts.
  8. Cover each  jar/glass.
  9. Refrigerate overnight or for 6 hours.

TIP:  If the oats are too thick the next day, just add more milk.
