This REFRESHING WATERMELON SALAD is a HIT!

Try this quick, cool and tasty salad during the heat of the season!  These twins are having fun preparing the refreshing dish at their family reunion.  The ingredients are “in season” so they are usually more economical as well as more flavorful.  Thanks Regan and Riley, for demonstrating how easy this recipe was to prepare and serve!

REFRESHING WATERMELON SALAD

12 Servings  Total: $8.23 (.69 per serving)

ASSEMBLE:

  • Knife
  • Cutting surface
  • Large container
  • Small containers for individual servings/individual forks
  • Serving spoon
  • Scissors
  • Ingredients

INGREDIENTS:

  • 5 lb seedless watermelon $2.95
  • 6 oz blueberries $2.50
  • ½ oz fresh mint leaves $1.99
  • 1 lemon $.79
  • salt & pepper to taste

Fun Facts About Watermelon!

DIRECTIONS:

  • Dice watermelon into small bite sized cubes. (Feel free to get help from an adult.)
  • Rinse-the mint leaves; dry and cut them with scissors.
  • Rinse and dry blueberries.
  • Rinse lemon and cut in half.
  • Place watermelon in large bowl.
  • Squeeze the lemon over the watermelon.
  • Sprinkle with salt & pepper.
  • Add the blueberries & mint leaves.
  • Toss together lightly.
  • Chill in refrigerator until ready to serve.
