  5. Don’t forget to wash any fruits or vegetables that will be consumed.

SEPARATE:

  1. Do not store raw seafood or meat above other foods. Raw seafood and meat contain germs that can spread to other foods, worktops, chopping boards, and cutlery to cause cross contamination!
    This can make you sick.
  2. After touching raw meat and seafood, touching your face, going to the bathroom, eating snacks, petting animals, etc– WASH YOUR HANDS!
  3. Make sure to get a clean cutting board and knife after cutting raw seafood and meat to avoid cross contamination.

  3. When setting down a knife, make sure it is in a place where it is easily seen.
  4. Place knives point side down in the dishwasher.
  5. NEVER run with knives. When transporting a knife, keep the point side down toward the ground.

HEAT:

  1. Do not touch any hot surface. It can burn you!
  2. When transporting a hot plate, pot, or appliances, make sure to use an oven mitt or pot holder.
  3. Use a pot lid as a shield when adding food to boiling liquids or oils. The lid will keep boiling liquids from splashing you!
  4. Turn pot handles away from the front of the stovetop or hot plate. The pot and its hot contents could be knocked onto the floor, and you!
